Everything in nature could be subject to the complex phenomenon of scattering, I think also souls could be scattered like light and projected into different dimension and energetic levels. Like Suzanne Vega feeling in her song "Small Blue Thing"
During my daily butoh I was experimenting the contact with ground against the attraction for the sun-light when the sun appeared in my window.
